On first use, this quick release connector was very difficult to snap into place. Took way too much effort, forcing the two pieces together before locking ring would snap into place when it was installed on water valve. But, if I had both pieces on my desk and connected them, it went together as it should, without much effort and a nice quick "click" of the locking ring snapping into place. This is what I discovered...the black rubber washer that seals between the female part of the connector and the water valve was installed backward on all the connectors. Remove the washer and you can see there are two sides...one is different from the other. You want the cupped side, the side that IS NOT flat to go first into the connector. You should see the flat side facing out. What is happening is the male end of the other part of the connector protrudes just slightly into the area there the rubber washer we are discussing is. When the female connector is screwed onto the water valve, the rubber washer, as installed by the factory (flat end down), makes the connection of the male end difficult because is is pushing against the washer. When you flip the washer over, with the "cup end" facing down, the cup part of the washer allows the male end to extend into the female fitting just enough to allow easy quick and easy connection and disconnection and no leaks.I've included two photos...first showing the correct washer placement, flat side up. The second shows the two sides of the washer, flat and cupped. If you look carefully, you can se how the female end protrudes slightly which will push against the flat side of the washer (incorrect factory install) and cause enough of an impediment so the male end cannot seat or click in without a lot of effort. Putting cupped end down allows space within the cup for the protruding male end, so no impediment. These are well constructed, but the connection is pretty tight and they are a bit difficult to connect and disconnect.Besides the leaking I love these. I have one on all my water hose attachments. Not too bad for the price.I have a small horse farm and quick connects are a must. Much better than buying them at a big box store for twice the price.Even came with plenty of washers. All is good with this purchase!Bought a pack of 4 and liked it so much I bought another pack of 3. I would have given it 5 stars but one of the quick disconnects was out of round and would not insert into the opposing piece, and some of the concave washers were inserted backwards which I found out the hard way. To their credit, the company sent out a replacement right away. I would recommend this product and would purchase it again if I need more quick disconnects.A little hard to assemble what heavy product from China (?) White box whitout any indication and missing o-rings.I like them
