This is lightweight and takes up very little space. I bought the 100ft long one that goes to about 30 ft without pulling to stretch it. I have a roof top deck with stone tiles so when I pull the hose, the material on it makes a scratchy noise over the tile/stone. I’m not sure if that will create early wear and tear but so far it is so much better than a rubber hose. No matter what kind of rubber hose I got, they kinked and were heavy.This one seems well made so I hope it lasts. I’ve used it the entire summer season. And still using it now until weather really cools down.I was pleasantly surprised at the versatility and lightweight nature of the Bowery flexible, expandable garden hose. I have ordered similar hoses in the past, only to be disappointed that they did not live up to their product descriptions. The hose passed my first and important test with flying colors. It is every bit of 100 feet when expanded. This allows me to connect it to the faucet on the side of the house and still have enough hose to wash the car. It comes shipped in a nice carry bag and even includes a hanging hose reel. I love the sprayer attachment which has a variety of spray variations including a hybrid option. The hose delivers good water pressure and did not show any signs of kinking. It has a unique color pattern of white and black stripes which is a refreshing alternative to the typical green or blue green options. What I really like about the flexible hose is its lightweight design allows you to use it in one area of your property then easily and quickly move to another area. I will never go back to the standard heavy, multi-kinking rubber hose again. I could not give this product five stars for durability as I just received it a few weeks ago. So far though, it is holding up very well despite heavy use.Pros: Light weight and absolutely kink proof.Cons: Rubber inserts (between fitting and hose) do NOT stay put. I have to keep sliding them back up & in by hand and am not being abusive in any way that would make them do that. If you are using a high flow setting (eg: shower) on the spray nozzle and there isn't enough flow from the water source to maintain pressure in the hose, it shrinks back down in size. Very frustrating to have it constantly shrink and grow while using.With the above being said, I still ordered another one because the light weight and lack of kinking outweighed the shrink/grow situation. The 2nd hose will give me the length I need even if they both shrink back to depressurized states. I realize not everyone is going to have as low of water pressure (coming from our well) as I do and I'm sure it would work fine with standard pressures. Durability could be another issue with the rubber parts at each end sliding out of place all the time. It looks like these were implemented into the design to help potential rubbing on the hose from the brass. I'll update this review if it becomes an issue.This is a great hose. It's very lightweight and appears to be constructed well. It comes with extra gaskets and an adequate 10 function nozzle, though if you're looking for a "good" nozzle, you might look for one separately (the soaker setting just dribbles weirdly down and barely out when held in an upright position). The hose also comes with it's own carrier, which I LOVE! The hose is small enough and light enough to tote around on the carrier with ease. The carrier can also be hung it directly on the spigot. It's super convenient and you don't have to mount anything with screws, anchors or molly bolts. If you have two or more spigots but only this one hose, it's not a problem. Just grab the carrier and take it to the spigot you need to use!Once you connect the hose and turn on the water, you can close the built-in valve on the hose to "fill" it and make it grow to it's full size. Now, flip the valve back on and you have a fully functional hose that's longer than what you started with. This also has a side effect of slightly increasing the pressure of the water when you open the valve since the hose will also want to contract to it's smaller size.There is one issue I've found: If you have a backflow preventer on your spigot, when you turn off the water, the hose will start to contract back to it's original size, which will push water out of both ends. If you have the valve side closed (or a closed nozzle screwed on), the water will try to push back into the closed spigot. If that spigot has a backflow preventer, it will just spray water back at you to release all the pressure. I think you can remediate this by simply leaving the other end of the hose open and turning off the spigot SLOWLY to allow the hose to shrink a little to reduce the final pressure when the valve is completely closed.I bought this to replace a similar hose, with a well known name, that sprung a leak. I think this hose is better quality.The hose is very well made and very compact. The shutoff valve and spray head are good quality and look like they will hold up to everyday use. It even comes with a hook to hang the hose on.I really like the addition of a shutoff value. I will add them to the other hoses I have.Recommend this product.I really like this hose because it's so light weight. You don't have to fight to drag it along. The down side, It's supposed to be a 50 foot hose, but so far I have not gotten the full extension. I haven't taken my measuring tape to it, but compared to the distance my old 50 foot hose had, I only get about 30-40 feet extension. Luckily that's works for me.as advertised
