Highly recommended replacement part for my 2014 BMW 428i, particularly if you’re doing any repair that drains the coolant. In my case, the water pump was squealing. The original part is plastic and prone to failure, although mine did not break with 142,000 miles on the engine. It was a pretty tight fit getting it into the engine block, so use some coolant as a lubricant. Some additional pointers :1) This car has a self-purge function you can activate, and it gets rid of any air in the coolant system. There are Youtube videos of this, but it goes like this : a) turn the car on but don't start the engine b) turn all the temperature controls to max temperature c) turn the fan speed to it's lowest setting d) press your foot fully on the accelerator pedal, and hold it there for about 10-15 seconds e) you should hear the water pump start to cycle on/off. The pump in these cars is electric2) Get the correct coolant for the car and double check what's in your cart (what I added to my cart and what was shipped were different and I received BMW motorcycle coolant which is a different formulation). I used Zerex G48(blue color) by Valvoline - they have a coolant for every car. You can buy concentrate (needs to be diluted 50/50 with water), or pre-mixed (already 50/50)3) Fill the reservoir and activate the self-purge process. Once you don't hear any more gurgling and bubbles coming through, stop the self purge.4) leave the reservoir cap off and start the car, letting it get to operating temperature. Top up the reservoir as necessary.5) put the cap back on until it clicks, and do a test run. Check coolant level again, but wait until the car cools to add more coolant
